LyondellBasell to Showcase Products for India's Growing Plastics Market
For years, LyondellBasell and its products have had an impact on lives across the globe. In 2012, the company will put its products and industry-leading technology on display for Plastindia 2012, one of Asia’s leading tradeshows for the plastics industry.
The tradeshow presents a unique opportunity for the company to present its products and technologies to India’s growing plastics market. By 2015, the eastern country’s consumption of plastics is expected to grow from 7 million to 15 million tons and the demand for plastics in irrigation in the region alone is expected to exceed 2.4 million tons.
For its part the company has already begun efforts to serve India, which stands to become the third largest consumer of plastics in the world.
“We are serving the growth markets from within the region,” explains Mitch Killeen, director of polyolefins for the AFMEI region. “Our joint venture (JV) partners in Asia all use the latest LyondellBasell technology and our JV plants in Saudi Arabia are the largest of their kind in the world”.
The theme for this year’s LyondellBasell exhibit is “Expanding Boundaries.” The company will showcase the following polyolefins and technologies:
- Polypropylene grades for packaging that are more transparent than competitor grades
- High gloss materials used for injection molding
- Polyethylene materials for pipe applications that display high corrosion and chemical resistance
- Purell resins -- LyondellBasell’s dedicated polyolefin grades selected for healthcare applications
- Various polypropylene compounds that deliver scratch resistance for automotive applications such as dashboard covers, door handles and bumpers
Customer service representatives will explain how LyondellBasell's global operations are backed by a supply chain that delivers products to all parts of the world and how our technology and licensing services provide industry leading technologies. Engineering teams will be on hand as well to assist in customer material selection.
