We produce polypropylene and polyethylene resins selected by customers for use in injection blow molding (IBM) applications. The IBM process involves a two step conversion - the first step is an injection molding process, followed by a blow molding step - utilizing wheel machinery. Compared to extrusion blow molding, IBM provides lower shrinkage and warpage in the thread section, resulting in improved tightness.
Benefits and Applications
Typical customer applications include pharmaceutical packaging for medications and food packaging for yogurt drinks.
Properties
Our Purell resins are used by customers for the production of IBM applications due to their outstanding properties and performance characteristics:
- Fast processing
- High density for good moisture protection
- Barrier properties that can improve shelf life
