Plexar® 1000 Series Tie-Resins
EVA copolymer-based tie-layers are primarily used in flexible packaging applications. They adhere well to polyamide (nylon), EVOH, and polyester materials, as well as ionomer sealant resins. They also exhibit excellent sealabilty, melt strength and clarity.
LDPE-based tie-layers also are used in flexible packaging applications. They exhibit excellent melt strength, clarity and do not contribute to taste/odor characteristics. They are primarily used in coextrusion film and extrusion coating, flexible packaging applications.
Equistar offers a premium line of extrusion coating LDPE-based and LLDPE-based tie-resins. These Plexar products provide outstanding performance and excellent processability allowing high line speeds, excellent draw-down and contribute little to neck-in in extrusion coating. Adhesion substrates include polyethylene, polyethylene copolymers, polyamides (nylons) , EVOH copolymers, paper, paperboard, and various oriented and non-oriented film substrates.
