We are a refiner of heavy high-sulfur crude oil as well as a significant producer of refined petroleum products and gasoline blending components, including biofuels.
LyondellBasell owns and operates two crude oil refineries. The refinery in Houston, Texas, is one of North America’s largest full conversion refineries capable of processing significant quantities of heavy, high-sulfur crude oil. The Houston refinery provides us with product diversity and allows us to benefit from worldwide demand for fuels and chemicals.
Our second refinery, in Berre l’Etang, France, was acquired on April 1, 2008. It has enabled additional raw material and site integration for our olefins and polyolefins businesses in Europe.
