LyondellBasell’s Hifax resins, based on their proprietary Catalloy process, are selected by customers for geomembranes due to their outstanding properties and performance attributes. Hifax resins feature a unique combination of flexibility, barrier properties and environmental as well as chemical resistance. Due to the absence of plasticisers, Hifax resins can exhibit a higher level of durability compared to conventional thermoplastics. Other characteristics include excellent puncture and tear resistance, low temperature flexibility, high dimension stability, very good root resistance, a wide welding processing window and ultraviolet stability.
Customers must ensure that membranes produced using Hifax resins will satisfy all codes and standards for the relevant applications. Customers must also ensure that installation procedures are adhered to, and the specific testing for the application is done to confirm the material is fit for the intended purpose.
