Plexar® 5000 Series Select Performance Tie-Resins
These polyethylene-based Plexar tie-resin products provide many advantages for a wide range of extrusion and coextrusion applications including, film, molding, extrusion coating and lamination applications. Plexar 5000 Series tie-layer products provide high adhesion performance in demanding end-use areas.
Plexar 5000 series products bond to a variety of substrates, such as most polyolefins (polar and non-polar polymers), fusion-bonded epoxies, cross-linked polyethylenes, and various metal substrates, including aluminum and steel.
Application areas include film, extrusion coating and lamination, profile extrusions and coextrusions for many end-uses such as molded articles, pipe, PEX pipe, and external ductile pipe coatings (i.e. potable and non-potable water transmission pipe, under-floor heating pipe, and petrochemical transmission pipelines).
Additionally, Equistar offers a premium line of extrusion coating Plexar tie-resins for coextrusion applications. These Plexar products provide outstanding adhesion performance and excellent processability allowing for higher line speeds, improved draw-down and reduced neck-in properties. Adhesion substrates include polyethylene, polyethylene copolymers, polyamide (nylon) , EVOH copolymers, paper, paperboard, and various oriented and non-oriented film substrates.
