Medium density polyethylene (MDPE), characterized by a linear polymer chain, is a thermoplastic resin produced through the low pressure polymerization of ethylene in gas phase reactors. MDPE can also contain small amounts of comonomers such as butene or hexene.
Benefits and Applications
Typical customer applications include:
- Film
- PE80 pressure pipe
- Wire & cable
- Anti-corrosion coating (ACC)
Properties
- Balanced stiffness/toughness ratio
- Good environmental stress cracking resistance
- Easy processability, especially in blown film
