LyondellBasell’s extrudable Plexar tie-layer resins used in multilayer structures are anhydride-modified polyolefins that bond dissimilar polymers together, primarily in multilayer, co-extruded structures. Customers report that Plexar resins provide superior performance in coextrusion applications such as blown and cast film, extrusion coating, blow molding, sheet extrusion, wire & cable technology, and in other industrial bonding applications.
Benefits and Applications
Plexar resins offer a broad array of products based on many polymers and provide excellent adhesion to EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol), polyamide (nylon) and many other polyolefins. Customer applications include high-barrier flexible packaging, rigid containers, industrial applications and bonding to metals and metal alloys.
