Our portfolio of scratch-resistant and low odor and emissions products includes mineral reinforced low-density grades with excellent impact/stiffness balance. Used in side panels and pillars, LyondellBasell’s unreinforced high-strength polypropylene (PP) copolymers have been shown to be more rigid than conventional polypropylene copolymers and demonstrate equal impact strength.
Side panels and trim on doors, pockets, consoles and pillars must resist splintering upon impact or upon deployment of side-impact airbags. Customers have selected our new PP premium resins due to their low temperature impact, coupled with good rigidity and flowability.
In addition, our resins provide high surface quality which was previously the domain of luxury cars. Our new class of Hostacom PP compounds can mimic the appearance of textiles. This enables the elimination of textiles or film, thereby reducing costs.
