Diethylene glycol, commonly referred to as DEG, is similar in properties to ethylene glycol, but with a higher boiling point, viscosity and specific gravity.
Benefits and Applications
DEG’s excellent solvent properties make it useful in a variety of applications, such as cleaners, cement processing, heat transfer fluids and adhesives. Other major uses of DEG include its use as a chemical intermediate in the production of unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs) and polyurethanes.
