Community Involvement
Geelong Polypropylene Plant>

We recognize that being a socially responsible member of the community requires maintaining an open door for dialogue with our community and actively working to support community needs.

The Geelong Plant participates in industry open days and community advisory panels. We also support local school initiatives and manufacturing careers program. Due to such leadership in establishing careers programs, we were awarded the Regional Industry Careers Advisor award for 2008.

Another program is the Employee Safety Incentive Scheme that raises funds for community health services through improved workplace safety results.

The Geelong Plant participates in the Responsible Care program, managed by the Plastics and Chemical Industries Association (PACIA). The program is designed to help manufacturers monitor and improve aspects of their operations which might affect the environment and the health and safety of local community members, employees and contractors.

An important component of Responsible Care is the Community Right to Know program, which gives the public 24-hour access to information about the company’s operations, products and performance in the area of safety and the environment.
