LyondellBasell’s Muenchsmuenster Site is located in an industrial park near the village of Muenchsmuenster, Bavaria, approximately 70 kilometers north of Munich. The site includes a steam cracker and a new world-scale high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant under construction, scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2009. The HDPE plant will produce a range of state-of-the-art polymers and will have a capacity of 320 KT per year. The main products of the steam cracker are ethylene and propylene. The cracker is linked by pipelines to the Bayernoil refinery for main feed supply, as well to a variety of customers for ethylene. Propylene is transported via railway to customers.
