Community outreach. Our managers meet regularly with advisory panels of residents from Rozenburg to discuss the concerns and expectations of the local community. In addition, we regularly invite members of the advisory panels from surrounding townships to discuss the performance of the Botlek plants in terms of health, safety and environmental care.Educational support. The Botlek Site support education and sports activities for children. We focus on science education, organizing activities with local students through the petrochemical industry’s Education Information Center. We also organize educational tours of Botlek facilities.Global Care Day. Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day. This year, our volunteers partnered with Wellant College, a regional school for vocational education. Employees cleaned and painted two large animal shelters and made other minor repairs at the college.Volunteerism. We encourage our employees’ engagement in the local community. These include social projects in the nearby communities of Rozenburg and Westvoorne.
