Explore & Experiment. Through LyondellBasell’s Explore & Experiment program, our employee volunteers offer hands-on science activities to local classrooms, sparking student interest in science. Thousands of students have benefited from our science expertise.
Global Care Day. Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day.
This year, our Community Champion volunteers helped to preserve the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum/Lighthouse and surrounding grounds. The Fairport Harbor Historical Society preserves this landmark, educates the community about local marine history and instills pride in the small village of Fairport Harbor.
Past projects have included enhancements to Fairport Harbor Village parks—installing new playground equipment and adding new mulch to make the area safer and more enjoyable for children. Often, we work in partnership with Village officials and employees.
Philanthropy. Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual United Way payroll-pledge campaign.
Volunteerism. We encourage our employees’ active engagement in the local community. They donate hundreds of hours to community service every month.
Our employees also serve as firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, science-fair judges, Scout leaders and coaches.
