The Channelview Complex is one of the largest petrochemical facilities in the Gulf Coast with approximately 2,000 employees and contractors and covering an area of almost 3,900 acres. The Channelview complex consists of two fully integrated facilities: The north side of the complex features two worldscale olefins units which manufacture ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene for LyondellBasell's Equistar business. The south side of the complex uses the feedstocks produced at the north plant to make propylene oxide, styrene monomer and other derivatives. LyondellBasell’s chemicals are the building blocks for consumer products such as clothing, packaging that protects our food from spoilage and contamination, construction and home building materials, automotive parts, household furnishings and bedding. LyondellBasell is among the world’s largest producers of ethylene and propylene oxide.
