Community outreach. Plant managers meet regularly with a panel of community residents to share safety- and environmental-performance information and to discuss community expectations and concerns.
Explore & Experiment. Through LyondellBasell’s Explore & Experiment program, our employee volunteers offer hands-on science activities to local classrooms, sparking student interest in science. We also offer area teachers science-training workshops that help them use our Explore & Experiment curriculum in the classroom.
Global Care Day. Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day.
This year, our employee volunteers worked to beautify The Ark Assessment Center, a local children’s emergency shelter. They landscaped, prepared a vegetable garden, painted large outdoor concrete animal sculptures and repaired the gymnasium. In previous years, volunteers improved the atrium at Calallen and Tuloso-Midway high schools.
Philanthropy. Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual payroll-pledge campaign for the United Way.
Volunteerism. We encourage our employees’ engagement in the local community.
They contribute their time and resources to many local groups, including the Corpus Christi Literacy Council, Robstown Area Development Commission, Boys and Girls Club, Corpus Christi Metro Ministries, Coastal Bend Bays Foundation and local school districts.
Collectively, our employees spend hundreds of hours each month in volunteer service. They serve as emergency responders, science-fair judges, referees, mentors, Scout leaders, teachers, coaches and school-board members.
