Community outreach. Plant managers meet regularly with a panel of community residents to share safety- and environmental-performance information and to discuss community expectations and concerns.
Explore & Experiment. LyondellBasell’s Explore & Experiment program offers employee volunteers performing hands-on science activities in local classrooms, sparking student interest in science. We also offer area teachers science-training workshops that help them use our Explore & Experiment curriculum in the classroom.
Global Care Day. Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day.
This year, our volunteers lent a hand to the Perpetual Help Home so that women and children in hardship would have a heightened sense of safety and security through renovations to the shelter. They replaced a privacy fence and floors, painted, rewired the kitchen and landscaped.
In years past, we have helped to restore the historic Hiller House and improve the MidCoast Family Services Shelter.
Philanthropy. Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual payroll-pledge campaign that benefits the United Way.
Volunteerism. We encourage our employees’ engagement in the local community.
Our employees serve many local groups, including the Food Bank, United Way, Victoria County’s Senior Citizen Center and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce. They also coordinate an annual winter-holiday celebration for local senior citizens.
Collectively, our employees spend hundreds of hours each month in volunteer service. They serve as emergency responders, science-fair judges, referees, mentors, Scout leaders, teachers, coaches and school-board members.
