Emissions Reduction. Our emission-reduction efforts have focused on the shut-down and start-up of certain process equipment, as well as on the addition of new combustion controls. We have successfully reduced our emissions of benzene, ethyl benzene, propylene and nitrogen oxides. We have established special-focus teams to help maintain a high level of environmental awareness among all site employees.
OSHA STAR Site. The Channelview Complex has earned the prestigious STAR status for its attention to safety. STAR sites are those recognized by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Voluntary Protection Program for outstanding workplace safety performance and processes.
In addition, the Channelview Complex has received regular recognition for excellent safety performance by the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association.
Caring for Texas Award. The Texas Chemical Council has awarded the Channelview Complex the Caring for Texas Award. It recognizes exceptional performance in emergency response, community responsibility and pollution prevention.
