Fairport Harbor Raises More Than $5000 for United Way Campaign

Neighbors in Need to Benefit from Company and Employee Donations

FAIRPORT HARBOR, OH. –- Aug. 8, 2018 – The Fairport Harbor Plant of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, recently announced donations totaling $5,063 to the United Way of Lake County.

Ted Cudak site manager for the Fairport Harbor Plant, said his employees are devoted volunteers and supporters of United Way because they see firsthand the impact their involvement makes in the community.

“Our employees understand how their dollars truly make a local difference to advance our communities” said Cudak.

The success of LyondellBasell’s local campaign means the United Way of Lake County will be better equipped to assist 27 partner agencies that provide over 30 critical programs and services to Lake County’s most vulnerable residents. United Way of Lake County’s funded programs provide basic human needs, education, youth development, health, crisis intervention, mental health, transportation, and disaster relief for individuals, families, youth, seniors, and veterans.

“Thanks to the generosity of LyondellBasell and many others alike, United Way of Lake County funded programs provided over 95,000 services to residents in need in 2017,” said Jodi Matsko, Resource Development Manager of United Way of Lake County. “LyondellBasell’s support is immensely important to the UWLC campaign because it enables us to do the work we do which is to create lasting impact for our communities most vulnerable residents.”

In 2017, LyondellBasell held United Way campaigns at 23 company sites across the U.S. and raised a total of $2.3 million that will support 26 United Way chapters.
