State Senator John Eklund Visits LyondellBasell’s Fairport Harbor Plant

Tour and roundtable discussion take place

FAIRPORT HARBOR, OH., January 14, 2019 – State Sen. John Eklund (R-Ohio) visited the LyondellBasell Fairport Harbor Plant to learn more about how the company produces materials that advance solutions in the wiring and cable industry.

“LyondellBasell is more than just an employer in this community, the staff is part of the fabric of Fairport Harbor,” said Sen. Eklund. “I want to ensure I understand the issues facing the manufacturing industry, but more importantly, what are the concerns of the people who work here.”

Currently serving his second term for the 18th district, the senator toured the facility with the site leadership team. He also took part in a roundtable discussion which touched on topics such as international trade issues to energy policy and taxes and regulations.

“We appreciate the opportunity to meet with our elected officials and show them how we contribute to the economy and how we’re advancing the modern world with our products,” said Ted Cudak, site manager of LyondellBasell’s Fairport Harbor Plant.

The plant employs over 35 workers. Products from this site are used by customers to insulate copper and fiber optic wiring for the automotive and appliance industries.
