JACKSON, TN., May 2, 2018 – Congressman David Kustoff (R, Tennessee-08) visited the LyondellBasell Jackson Plant to learn more about how the company produces materials that advance solution in the automotive industry and small household appliances. Congressman Kustoff also discussed the future of manufacturing during a meeting with the staff.

“Local manufacturers face a wide range of issues and spending time with the LyondellBasell employees helps me understand those issues,” said Congressman Kustoff. “For too long manufacturing was on the decline in America, I will continue to work hard to ensure manufacturing can thrive here in West Tennessee and across the country.”

A roundtable discussion focused on topics ranging from international trade issues to energy policy and taxes and regulations.

“We appreciate when our elected officials like Congressman Kustoff come onsite to learn about who we are and how state and federal policy touches real workers like us in Jackson, Tennessee,” said Rebecca White, site manager of LyondellBasell’s Jackson Plant. “By having open doors to communications, this ensures a positive and productive relationship for everyone.”

The Jackson Plant, which began production in 1988, employs over 100 workers and manufactures polypropylene compounds. Products from this site are used in specialty applications, such as automotive and small household appliances.
