We recognize that being a socially responsible member of the community requires maintaining an open door for dialogue with our community and actively working to support community needs.
Our managers meet regularly with a panel of residents, school officials and local business leaders to discuss the site's environmental and safety performance, community activities, and other concerns and expectations.
We realize that being a socially responsible member of the community requires maintaining an open door for dialogue with our neighbors and actively working to support community needs.
Explore & Experiment
Through LyondellBasell's Explore & Experiment program, our employee volunteers offer hands-on science activities to local classrooms, sparking student interest in science. We also offer area teachers science-training workshops that help them use our Explore & Experiment curriculum in the classroom.
Global Care Day
Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day.
For years, we have worked to improve the facilities at T.S. Cooley Elementary School. This year, we added signage to student pick-up areas; repainted caution lanes; added tether-ball playing areas; designed and installed new landscaping; cleaned up existing flower beds, fence lines and yards; and installed a new bench in the courtyard.
In years past, these projects have included landscaping activities and improvements to playground facilities at the school.
Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual payroll-pledge campaign for the United Way.
We encourage our employees' engagement in the local community.
Collectively, our employees spend hundreds of hours each month in volunteer service. They serve as emergency responders, science-fair judges, referees, mentors, Scout leaders, teachers, coaches and leaders for key civic and educational groups.
