More than 100 volunteers helped spruce up Boys Village, a center that serves dozens of needy children in Lake Charles.

Lake Charles site employees and their families enjoyed the great outdoors as part of their Global Care Day projects. Created 15 years ago, the company initiative involves thousands of workers in 20 countries across six continents. The goal is to leave a long, sustainable impact in the communities where LyondellBasell operates.

More than 100 volunteers helped spruce up Boys Village, a center that serves dozens of needy children in Lake Charles. Crews installed new outdoor equipment, cleaned brush from the athletic fields, expanded the facility’s library and helped paint.

At the end of the day, new plants and other landscaping brought a fresh look to the facility’s entrance. Volunteers built and erected a new sign at the Center which was founded in 1951.
