Community Involvement

We recognize that being a socially responsible member of the community requires maintaining an open door for dialogue with our community and actively working to support community needs.

Philanthropy

Using a scheme of charitable donations based on site safety performance, the Milton Keynes site has provided financial support to a number of local community organizations. Some of the organizations that have been sponsored in this way in recent years include John Hellins Primary School, Willen Hospice, Eclipse Counseling Service, and a local animal farm.

Education

Our site typically hosts two students each year from local schools for a two week period to gain an exposure to the working environment. Schools that have participated include Leon School, Lord Grade School, and Oakgrove School.

Global Care Day

Employees participated in LyondellBasell's annual Global Care Day, during which they are provided with the opportunity to work on a community service project. Employee volunteers from our site assisted Willen Hospice in decorating several staff rooms as part of an extension project. Willen Hospice provides specialist care for adults from the region who have life limiting illnesses, at no cost to the patients.

Community Outreach

During the site's 30 year anniversary, site employees participated in a series of activities that raised more than £ 1000 in funds to support the Willen Hospice. These activities included a Lake Walk, Cycle to Work Week and a raffle.
