MORRIS, Ill., Aug. 16, 2018MORRIS, Ill., Aug. 16, 2018The Morris Complex of LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies, hosted Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R, Illinois-16). During his visit, Congressman Kinzinger discussed important manufacturing topics with employees, including international trade, energy policy and taxes and regulations.

“It’s a win when we can educate Congressman Kinzinger about our operations at LyondellBasell and spend time discussing issues relevant to our industry,” said Tim Carnell, site manager of LyondellBasell’s Morris Complex. “We appreciate him having open dialogue with our staff centering around the value of manufacturing in Illinois.”

As one of the largest petrochemical sites in the Midwest, the Morris Complex employs over 400 employees and contractors. The plant manufactures materials used in medical products, food packaging and automotive fuel tanks and exteriors.

“It is important to hear from manufacturers like LyondellBasell and learn about issues that are important and affect them and the way they do business,” said Congressman Kinzinger. “Manufacturing is critical to the 16th District and the State of Illinois, and accounts for nearly 12 percent of the entire U.S. economy.”
