LyondellBasell Honored with the 2017 Chairman Award by Chemical Council of New Jersey

NEWARK, New Jersey, June 6, 2017 – The Edison and Newark Plants of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies, were recently awarded the 2017 Chairman’s Award by the Chemistry Council of New Jersey (CCNJ).

The award recognized LyondellBasell for demonstrating excellence and commitment to community, customer, shareholder and employee expectations in the areas of safety, health, and environmental performance. 

“Most importantly this award recognizes LyondellBasell as a core member company that demonstrates commitment to the overall success of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey,” said Dennis Hart, executive director of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey.

In recent years, LyondellBasell has worked with CCNJ serving  on its board of directors, chairing the CCNJ Environment Committee, and supporting CCNJ workshops and the Annual Conference.

“LyondellBasell operates their facilities in a manner that protects people and the environment,” said Hart. “With a presence in 17 countries, and more than 55 manufacturing sites, we are pleased that two of those sites, Edison and Newark, are located right here in New Jersey.”

Edison Site Manager, and Board member, David Schrutka, and Newark Site Manager, Terry Mallory, accepted the award on behalf of LyondellBasell.

“We are truly honored to accept this award on behalf of the people who work tirelessly every day to make LyondellBasell one of the very best chemical companies in the world,” said David Schrutka, LyondellBasell Edison Site Manager.
