Helping Make the Holidays Brighter for Area Children

December 05, 2014

With the holidays right around the corner, staff at the LyondellBasell Victoria site donated $1,000 to the Marines Toys for Tots program. The effort reaches thousands of children in the Crossroads area every year.

“It’s tough to imagine there are children who will not get a gift this holiday season,” said LyondellBasell Victoria Site Manager James Guynes. “Toys for Tots is such a valued and established program. We’re proud to support their efforts to put smiles on children’s faces.”

The check was presented by Guynes and technician Austin Seyfert during the Stuff the Truck event. The LyondellBasell elves also brought new toys to help fill the vehicle.

“This is just one of the many ways we can have a positive impact on our community,” said Guynes. “We appreciate the hard work of the good folks at Toys for Tots for making this possible.”

The Toys for Tots program has been reaching out to those in need since 1947. “It’s generous donations like this that help us continue our mission to bring the joy of Christmas and our belief that every child deserves a little Christmas,” says Mark Longoria, Toys for Tots coordinator.

The Toys for Tots program also serves as a resource for many other nonprofit groups in the Crossroads community.
