Large Contribution Will Help Fund Programs Throughout the Area

LyondellBasell employees at the Corpus Christi plant raised almost $76,000 for the United Way of Costal Bend during the 2012-13 campaign, including $37,500 in employee contributions with the balance matched by the company.  Employees recently presented United Way executives with a $37,950 matching grant from LyondellBasell.

“LyondellBasell has been an invaluable partner by ensuring that life-changing services are readily available to persons in the Coastal Bend,” said Catrina Steinocher Wilson, United Way of the Coastal Bend president and CEO. “Their corporate culture of community aligns with United Way’s focus on Education, Income and Health to ensure a better life for the citizens of South Texas.”

Supporting United Way has become a cornerstone tradition of LyondellBasell’s continued commitment of giving back to the community. The yearly campaign helps to fund programs in Corpus Christi that people have come to rely upon.

“The United Way campaign was a huge success thanks to the efforts of our workers at the site,” said Randal Tatum, LyondellBasell Corpus Christi site manager. “The United Way of Costal Bend helps those in need in our community and we are just glad to be able to help out with this donation.”

Nationally, LyondellBasell employees and the company contributed more than $1.9 million to United Way agencies in the 2012-13 campaign.
