PASADENA, Texas – Nov. 13, 2015 – LyondellBasell (NYSE:  LYB), one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, today announced a grant of $5,000 to the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation. These funds will provide teachers with funding for classroom materials for math, science and technical projects.

This award is the latest in a series of donations LyondellBasell has made to the Pasadena school district. Last year, the company announced a three-year commitment of $125,000 to support the school’s welding, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning programs.

“When you walk through the hallways of this campus, the sheer number of programs that are directly tied to current workforce needs is amazing,” said LyondellBasell Bayport Site Manager Walter Pinto. “We are very proud to support these students as they get a strong education with incredible hands-on experience.”

“These unique high school technical training programs will help students become better prepared for jobs in industry, said LyondellBasell Refining, Products and Planning Director Greg Nevermann. “In addition, the Education Foundation grant gives teachers the funding they need to better educate students in science, engineering, technology and math.”

“These funds will allow us to provide industry-related materials and curriculum while expanding our opportunities to provide unique learning experiences for our students,” said CTHS Principal Steve Fleming. “We greatly appreciate LyondellBasell’s commitment to the ongoing preparation and future success of our students.”
