A good relationship with the community is important to us.
We built and maintain relationships with our local community representatives by participating in activities, such as the 'Rozenburg Klankbordgroep'. Also during the Dutch open door days called 'Dag van de Chemie' we invite our communities to visit us and show how we work at our Botlek site. As said we recognize that being a socially responsible member of the community requires maintaining an open door for dialogue with our community and actively working to support community needs.
Global Care Day
Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day. Last year our volunteers partnered with 'Zuidhollands Landschap' - a regional environment and nature protection organization. Employees helped to build a new fence to allow grazing. In the past we also supported many other projects like local schools, libraries and children's hospitals.
Educational Support
We organize site tours for schools and students in the community around our plants to teach children about the chemical industry and to show them possible career opportunities. We support the EIC Mainport.
