Explore & Experiment
Through LyondellBasell's Explore & Experiment program, our employee volunteers provide hands-on science learning activities for thousands of area children in classrooms, libraries, camps and Scout meetings. The site has also hosted a number of teacher workshops to train local teachers how to conduct these same activities in the classroom.
Global Care Day
Employee volunteers also regularly participate in LyondellBasell's annual Global Care Day, a day in which thousands of company volunteers at sites around the globe make a difference by participating in local community service projects. Locally, these projects have included activities such as assisting to beautify St. Joseph Home and constructing exercise sets and children's play sets in Landen Deerfield Park.
Philanthropy
Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual United Way payroll-pledge campaign.
Volunteerism
Employees are encouraged to volunteer their time to key community organizations, spending hundreds of hours each month volunteering as scout leaders, coaches, referees, board members, volunteer emergency medical technicians and firefighters.
