Our employees also open their hearts and wallets to charitable community organizationsand contribute generously to the United Way through a payroll pledge campaign.

Volunteerism

Employee volunteers have made presentations to nearly 150 8th grade students at Kinawa Middle School. The presentations focused on how plastics are made, how they are beneficial toour quality of life, and how it is important that they are properly recycled. Students learned about thedifferent recycling codes used on plastic items and about different recycling methods. The students and LyondellBasell volunteers discussed ways to improve the recycling process and each student was askedto contribute an idea that might make it easier for people to recycle plastic items. These ideas were thencompiled into a booklet that was sent to Michigan’s Governor as a source of ideas for the State ofMichigan to draw upon to improve plastics recycling programs.
