Donation Supports Pasadena ISD’s Career and Technical School

LyondellBasell is providing multi-year support of $125,000 to the Pasadena ISD Career and Technical High School. The funds will help maintain the school’s Welding, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) programs.  LyondellBasell will be recognized by the school district with a plaque and naming rights for the Welding and Electrical classrooms.

“A skilled workforce is critical to our long term success,” said LyondellBasell Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Refining, Kevin Brown. “The graduates from this campus will be qualified to participate in our workforce of tomorrow.  We are pleased to be investing in not only our community but in preparing these students for a successful and productive career in our industry".

LyondellBasell representatives were honored by the Pasadena ISD Board for the company’s donation. This unique high school program will help students become better prepared for jobs in industry upon graduation.

“We are investing in the students of today as they are our workers of tomorrow,” said LyondellBasell Channelview Site Manager Todd Monette. “This school is unique in that it allows students to see and experience the careers in front of them before they graduate. This also represents an extension of an ongoing partnership that we have had with PISD for many years and we look forward to many more successes together.”

“These funds will allow us to provide the most current industry-standard equipment, materials, and curriculum for our students and staff and expand our opportunities to provide unique learning experiences for our students,” said CTHS Principal Steve Fleming. “We greatly appreciate LyondellBasell’s commitment to the ongoing preparation and future success of our students."
