LyondellBasell Spruces Up Blue Ash Nature Park

Volunteers Participate in Company’s 15th Annual Global Care Day

LyondellBasell Cincinnati Technology Center employees and their families provided nature trail maintenance, painted birdhouses, installed new mulch and plants and removed invasive plant species at Blue Ash Nature Park as part of the company’s Global Care Day. The event encourages LyondellBasell employees around the world to collectively participate in community service projects on the same day.

“Blue Ash is known for its parks and many recreational opportunities, so we are thrilled that LyondellBasell has chosen the Blue Ash Nature Park as its focus for its Global Care Day,” said Blue Ash Mayor Lee Czerwonka.

For the company's 15th annual Global Care Day, volunteers in 20 countries on six continents demonstrated their commitment to their neighborhoods on Saturday, May 17.

“Participating in Global Care Day is always a very rewarding experience,” said Cincinnati Technology Center Employee Keith Osterbrock. “Our employees and families see the impact of what their hard work has meant to the local community.”

Over the past 15 years, approximately 25,900 LyondellBasell employees and their families have donated more than 162,800 volunteer hours supporting their communities on Global Care Day.

“The City truly appreciates this effort, including the many employees and volunteers taking time out of their busy schedules to help keep our park beautiful,” Czerwonka said.

The Cincinnati Technology Center in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, houses the polyethylene, specialties, and fundamental research and development functions for LyondellBasell’s Equistar polymers business. This state-of-the-art research center contains approximately 260,000 square feet of research and office space. This center brings value to our society by assisting customers in developing the most efficient polymer materials for their applications, and by assisting customers in reducing manufacturing costs by optimizing the operation of their polymer processing equipment.
