JACKSON, Tenn. – April 6, 2016 – The Jackson site of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, recently announced donations totaling more than $33,506 to United Way of West Tennessee as part of its completed 2015 campaign.
“We are committed to being a responsible, good neighbor in the communities where we operate,” said LyondellBasell CEO Bob Patel. “We are very proud of our efforts and the generosity of our employees in giving back to their communities through charitable giving and volunteer service.”
In 2015, LyondellBasell held United Way campaigns at 22 company sites across the U.S. and raised a total of $2.7 million. The money raised by the company’s campaign will benefit thousands of programs across the country that people in need rely upon.
“LyondellBasell has set the standard for being community partners once again in West Tennessee,” said United Way of West Tennessee President Scott Conger. “They know what it means to be involved in their communities. From volunteerism, to employee giving, the people at LyondellBasell are great partners for United Way and West Tennessee.”
“We’ve seen firsthand the difference United Way can make in the lives of people in our community,” said Jackson Plant Site Manager Rebecca White. “This campaign is important to us. It is gratifying to see the lasting impact from the United Way.”
In addition to supporting the United Way, in 2015 LyondellBasell Jackson workers and their families participated in Global Care Day, the company’s annual day of service, where they volunteered to beautify the grounds surrounding the Madison Haywood Developmental Services building. The Jackson site also plays a leadership role in the local community by supporting many area organizations including Relay for Life, RIFA Food Bank and our first responders.
