Communities to Benefit from Company and Employee Donations

MORRIS, Ill. – April 5, 2016 – The Morris Complex of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, recently announced donations totaling $114,000 to United Way of Grundy County, United Way of Eastern LaSalle and United Way of Will County as part of its completed 2015 campaign.

"We are committed to being a responsible, good neighbor in the communities where we operate," said LyondellBasell CEO Bob Patel. "We are very proud of our efforts and the generosity of our employees in giving back to their communities through charitable giving and volunteer service."

In 2015, LyondellBasell held United Way campaigns at 22 company sites across the U.S. and raised a total of $2.7 million. The money raised by the company’s campaign will benefit thousands of programs across the country that people in need rely upon.

"We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of LyondellBasell’s Morris Complex," said Karen Nall, United Way of Grundy County executive director. "The money raised through their United Way campaign helps support a variety of vital programs and services in our area and we could not do this without the corporate leadership of LyondellBasell and the generosity of their employees."

In addition to supporting the United Way, in 2015 LyondellBasell Morris employees and their families participated in Global Care Day, the company’s annual day of service, where they beautified Arroyo Trails Park in nearby Channahon. The LyondellBasell Morris Complex also plays a leadership role in the local community supporting many area organizations including Joliet Junior College, Junior Achievement of Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will County and We Care of Grundy County.

"The United Way provides valuable resources to our community," said Morris Complex Site Manager Brian Angwin. "LyondellBasell is proud to help support an organization that does so many good things throughout the area."
