Gorman Heritage Farm Welcomes LyondellBasell Volunteers

CINCINNATI, OH. – Sept. 27, 2018 – LyondellBasell Cincinnati Technology Center spent time at the Gorman Heritage Farm, a 122-acre nonprofit, working farm with a mission to provide education on agriculture, nutrition, sustainability and the environment as part of the company’s Global Care Day. Now in its 19th year, the event encourages LyondellBasell staff around the world to collectively participate in community service projects.

While at the farm, LyondellBasell volunteers spent time cleaning out stalls, painting event face boards, clearing out barns, mulching, weeding multiple gardens and cutting a challenging corn maze for fall family fun.

“This project brought participants of all ages out to lend a helping hand,” said Chuck Holland, Cincinnati Technology Center site manager. “The farm is really appreciated by the entire community and the work our group completed will be enjoyed by many this fall season.”

The supplies were paid for by LyondellBasell.

“For LyondellBasell to come in with a large group of staff and families on a Saturday to work is amazing,” said Claire Long, volunteer manager Gorman Heritage Farm. “Everyone was engaged, happy and a pleasure to work with. It was a wonderful day that was overwhelmingly productive. We are grateful for such a large company like LyondellBasell to support a small non-profit and give back to the community in such a tangible, hands-on manner."

Over the past 19 years, approximately 30,000 LyondellBasell employees and their families have donated more than 190,000 volunteer hours in support of their communities on Global Care Day.
