LyondellBasell’s Clinton Complex Donates $198,623 to United Way

CLINTON, Iowa – April 5, 2019 –The Clinton Complex of LyondellBasell announced today it has raised a total of $198,623 in donations for the United Way of Clinton County.

“Donating to the United Way is personal for our employees who live and work here,” said Jim Hillier, site manager Clinton Complex. “To them, it’s about neighbors helping neighbors and knowing that their contributions are making a difference to families and individuals who need it most.”

As a result of the success of LyondellBasell’s local campaign, United Way of Clinton County will be better equipped to assist individuals and families in Camanche, Clinton, DeWitt and the surrounding area with services that will help enable success in school, work and life.

“This support will allow citizens to gain the education and tools to improve their lives and that of their children, building stronger communities where families have healthier beginnings and healthier lives,” said Cheryl McCulloh, director of United Way of Clinton County. “Contributions from LyondellBasell and its employees remain in Clinton County to help local residents.”

The Clinton Complex United Way campaign began in October of 2018.

“I am humbled and inspired by the generosity of our employees and their giving spirit,” said Hillier. “They exemplify what being a good neighbor is – whether it’s volunteering or by making financial contributions – their actions speak volumes and I couldn’t be prouder.”

LyondellBasell is one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies. In 2018, the company’s United Way campaign, which included at 28 sites across the U.S. This effort resulted in a $2.3 million contribution which will support 29 United Way chapters.
