The LyondellBasell Lake Charles Polymers Plant located just south of Sulphur, LA has contributed to the region’s economic strength and industrial growth since the 1960s. Today, it produces Polypropylene and Catalloy resins that serve as the building blocks for construction and roofing materials, household appliances, food packaging, automotive parts, and caps and closures used around the world. From homes and vehicles to kitchens and grocery stores, products made at the Lake Charles Polymers Plant support sustainable solutions for everyday life.

The facility also serves as a long‑standing employer and economic driver in Southwest Louisiana. LyondellBasell supports the communities where employees live, work, and shop. Through property tax contributions, the company helps fund local schools, infrastructure, and essential public services.

LyondellBasell also invests in the future workforce through education and volunteerism. As an official Calcasieu Parish School Board Partner in Education, the plant works directly with T.S. Cooley Elementary School and Starks High School. Employees volunteer their time and expertise with organizations such as Junior Achievement, the Region 5 STEM Center, and the Calcasieu Council on Aging, helping educate students, and strengthen community connections.

The safety of the community, our operations and our employees is a primary focus. GoalZERO is our commitment to operating safely with zero injuries and zero process safety, product safety, environmental, and security incidents. The LyondellBasell GoalZERO standards apply to all employees, contractors and suppliers performing work at the sites.
