For decades, our range of polyethylene, polypropylene and polybutene-1 (PB-1) resins have been globally in demand by customers for the production of extrusion pipe, sheet and semi-finished products.

To produce pipe, sheet and semi-finished products, LyondellBasell customers use Alathon, Hostalen, Lupolen and PB-1 resins in the extrusion process. The typical process includes the heating of the resin to a molten state. In the final step, a screw forces the resin through a die, forming the resin into the desired pipe shape.

The pipe is then submitted to the cooling final step to make it dimensionally stable and suitable for the desired application.
