Global Care Day
Thousands of our employees, worldwide, work to make a difference in the world by joining this annual community-service day.
Previously, we worked to remove Hurricane Ike debris and improve wildlife areas at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in preparation for its 175th anniversary. We landscaped, planted trees, created a butterfly garden and assembled park benches for North Pointe Elementary School in Clear Creek Independent School District in Bay Area Houston. Both the park and the school are close to our pipelines. The North Pointe Elementary PTA presented a Friend of Education award to LyondellBasell in appreciation of the work and support. We also assembled 2 bunk beds and 3 futons, painted 3 rooms and installed a large screen TV for Serve Outdoors in Matagorda County.
Philanthropy
Our employees open their hearts and wallets to support local organizations. For example, they generously support local community-service agencies through an annual payroll-pledge campaign for the United Way.
Volunteerism
We encourage our employees’ engagement in the local community.
The organizations we have supported include the Midfield Fire Department, Markham and Palacios volunteer fire departments, Junior Achievement, Clear Creek ISDs Falcon Pass Elementary, The Bridge and Serve Outdoors.
