LyondellBasell Global Care Day Renews Commitment to Community

EDISON, NJ. – Sept. 12, 2018 – LyondellBasell Edison Plant employees and their families carried out a long list of projects at the Kiddie Keep Well Camp, which serves thousands of Middlesex County children and their families at no charge. Children receive medical and dental exams, proper nutrition and dental hygiene education, and enjoy swimming, art-sand crafts, music, games, drama and other indoor and outdoor activities under qualified supervision.

The volunteer group focused their efforts on various maintenance activities for Global Care Day. Now in its 19th year, the event encourages LyondellBasell staff around the world to collectively participate in community service projects.

“Any time we can help local children thrive we are excited to partner and participate,” said Antero Ortega-Velazco, Edison site manager. “This camp stands as a vital resource to this community and we are proud of the improvements we’ve made to help them on this journey.”

Activities included painting, landscaping and helping with general repair projects.

All supplies and equipment were provided by LyondellBasell.

“LyondellBasell has been part of the Kiddie Keep Well Camp family for any years,” said Cindy Robertson, camp director. “The hands-on support is amazing. We appreciate all the time, energy and supplies that are given to Kiddie Keep Well Camp, and we hope to continue to collaborate and build our growing relationship.”

Over the past 19 years, approximately 30,000 LyondellBasell employees and their families have donated more than 190,000 volunteer hours in support of their communities on Global Care Day.
