Advancing circularity through mechanical recycling in California
At LYB, we are using different technologies to reduce plastic waste and advance
a circular economy. At Jurupa Valley, we source plastic waste primarily from municipal collection programs in California and the western United States. Through mechanical recycling, the site turns that material into post-consumer recycled polymers for applications such as automotive, consumer goods and industrial products.
Our approach
The Jurupa Valley site leverages our experience in mechanical recycling to produce post-consumer recycled products marketed under the CirculenRecover
brand, part of the company’s Circulen product portfolio of circular
and low carbon solutions.
From feedstock to final product, the mechanical recycling process
takes plastic waste and turns it into high-quality recycled polymers:

Innovation helps expand circularity
Through our technology centers around the world, LYB technical and R&D teams leverage our pilot-scale capabilities to optimize the properties of products produced at the Jurupa Valley site to meet our customers’ sustainability and circularity goals. Our integrated approach helps advance circularity in California, North America and around the world.
