MoReTec technology processes pre-sorted plastic waste, feeding the waste materials and a catalyst into a reactor. A catalytic reaction produces substitutes for fossil-based cracker feedstocks. These substitutes, pyrolysis oil and gas, then get fed into a cracker to produce monomers, such as ethylene and propylene. These monomers are used to produce polyethylene and polypropylene pellets with properties identical to fossil-based polymers. 

This innovative technology offers several significant benefits. The process maximizes the plastic recycling rate while minimizing the loss of plastic waste to fuels. Lower temperatures reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, the electrical heating design enables the process to be powered by renewable electricity, and the process can be scaled up to further increase efficiency. 

The polymers produced with raw materials made from MoReTec technology can be used in a wide range of applications with high purity standards, including medical applications and food packaging.
