Company Participates in 17th Annual LyondellBasell Global Care Day

MONT BELVIEU, Texas – Sept. 13, 2016 – LyondellBasell Equistar Pipeline employees and their families spent the day partnering with the city of Mont Belvieu and Barbers Hill Kindergarten Center. Volunteers built a butterfly garden, benches, landscaped the playground and made improvements to the equipment as part of LyondellBasell’s Global Care Day, a community service initiative held in cities across the globe where the company has operations.

"We have been planning and preparing for this project for quite some time," said Cindy Miller, Equistar Pipeline administrative assistant. "We hope this project will give our teachers the opportunity and inspiration to develop new techniques and gain experiences to draw upon into their instruction."

LyondellBasell is one of the world's largest plastics, chemical and refining companies. Workers from 69 sites in 23 countries participated in the annual Global Care Day event.

"This partnership with LyondellBasell will allow our students and teachers to participate in activities that extend beyond the classroom and are provided by our community," said Lisa Watkins, Barbers Hill Elementary principal. "We cannot wait to observe the butterflies in their new home at Barbers Hill Kinder Center. Partners like this bring financial and human resources to our schools that enhance our ability to provide a quality education."

Over the past 17 years, LyondellBasell employees and their families have donated more than 163,000 volunteer hours in support of their communities on Global Care Day.
