The Channelview Complex, which includes the Channelview North and Channelview South sites, covers approximately 4,000 acres east of Houston and is one of the largest petrochemical facilities on the Gulf Coast. The site has been part of the North Channel community since 1957 and employs about 2,000 people and contractors. The North facility manufactures ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene, and the South facility uses these products to produce propylene oxide, styrene monomer, other derivatives and gasoline-blending products. Channelview is also home to one of the world's largest PO/TBA plants.
The complex combines skilled employees with advanced equipment to make essential chemicals used in everyday products. Channelview places strong emphasis on safe operations, community engagement and environmental protection, and contributes to the local economy through jobs, taxes and support for schools, fire departments and community organizations.
