September 19, 2017

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, September 19, 2017 – LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), one of the world's largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, today introduced Moplen grade EP310J HP, a polypropylene (PP) resin offering improved sealing strength and produced using a non-phthalate based catalytic system to meet the growing global demand for food pouches.

With this new addition, LyondellBasell delivers to its flexible packaging customers a broad PP portfolio to produce from freezable to retortable packaging films. Moplen EP310J HP is suitable for lamination and outperforms other PP heterophasic copolymers by offering high impact, good puncture and good tear resistance combined with high seal strength and integrity.

Additionally, it delivers advantages during production, such as time, cost and energy savings by offering excellent homogeneity and good flowability for processing on high speed and high throughput lines.

"Our Moplen heterophasic copolymer family of grades offers industry-leading products based on LyondellBasell’s pioneering resin and manufacturing technology developments,” said Dario Giudici, Marketing Manager of LyondellBasell PP FlexiblePackaging Europe. “Our new grade Moplen EP310J HP not only extends our Moplen product range for cast film applications, but it also delivers cost advantages and excellent performance attributes required by our customers in this technically exciting industry”.
