LyondellBasell is a leading global producer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. LyondellBasell currently operates several world scale plants that produce propylene oxide and either styrene monomer (SM) or tertiary butanol (TBA) as co-products. We are a leading producer and marketer of ether components for clean automotive fuels. Fuel ethers like MTBE and ETBE provide high octane and excellent distillation properties while reducing harmful emissions of ozone and particulate matter. LyondellBasell also produces tetrahydrofuran (THF), a key raw material in the production of spandex fibers and PVC pipe cements and diethyl ether.
