Disaster Relief Fund

Several years ago, LyondellBasell established the LyondellBasell Disaster Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides assistance to U.S. employees who suffer significant losses due to natural disasters, such as tornadoes, hurricanes and floods. Sustained by contributions from the company, its employees and outside donors, the fund can make timely grants to help affected employees deal with sudden loss and displacement. ​

In 2001, LyondellBasell created the Disaster Relief Fund when Tropical Storm Allison devastated the Houston, Texas, U.S.A., causing major flooding and damage to more than 40 employees' homes. Then in 2004, the Fund helped a Morris, Illinois, U.S.A., plant employee when his home suffered significant damage and he and his family were displaced for an extended period of time. When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck the Texas Gulf Coast in 2005, and again when Hurricane Ike struck the Houston area in 2008, we were able to help hundreds of our colleagues again.

Please consider making a donation to the LyondellBasell Disaster Relief Fund. The company will match employee donations to this fund on a dollar-for-dollar basis and 100 percent of the money will flow directly to our impacted colleagues. For U.S. employees, your contributions are tax-deductible.

Non-U.S. employees or those wishing to contribute via credit or debit card can do so by clicking here.

Payroll deduction for U.S. employees
U.S. employees have the option of spreading out their donation over multiple pay periods by using the payroll deduction option. Employees interested in this option should complete the form available via this link and then email the form to payroll2@lyb.com. Requested donations via payroll deduction will be processed in the next payroll cycle following submission.

Payroll deduction for Europe employees
Europe employees in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and United Kingdom have the option of spreading out their donation over multiple pay periods by using the payroll deduction option. Employees in these countries will receive communication from their countries’ HR representatives detailing the country-specific procedures, forms and email information. Requested contributions via payroll deduction will be processed in the next payroll cycle following submission. As the company has certain legal and administrative restrictions to process payroll deductions from other countries, employees in countries not listed above can still contribute using the credit or debit card option.
