Akoalit Polybutene-1 (PB-1) and Lupolen cross-linked PE (PE-X) piping systems are used worldwide for district heating networks supplying public buildings, apartment blocks and office complexes with heating from efficient and environmentally optimized heat sources. Compared to metal pipes, Akoalit PB-1 and Lupolen PE-X offer many significant benefits for district heating pipe systems including light weight, no corrosion, and low heat loss. Akoalit PB-1 resins provide best in class pressure and temperature rating up to 95 °C combined with outstanding flexibility. Our customers have developed pre-insulated, ready to use pipe systems using Akoalit PB-1 and Lupolen PE-X as preferred material for inner media pipe.
